As a young kid preparing for my school’s science fair, my Dad and I created terrariums to demonstrate rain. We arranged some dirt, plants, moss, and rocks in an old fish tank, dug a little “pond” in the middle, and covered the tank with clear plexiglass. After several hours, the water from the pond would evaporate, form condensation, and finally, droplets of water on the inside surface of the plexiglass that would slowly drop like rain back into the tiny microclimate.
Sometimes the cause of a Bearded Dragon eating problem is if it’s impacted. You need to find a good substrate for your pet to be on to help keep it regular. Some beardie owners simply forget that their pet needs plenty of mixed vegetables and they feed them live prey only. Make sure you put some greens and vegetables as well as plenty of water in the Terrarium Workshop for your pet.
The first thing you should do is see if your pet lizard is too hot. Sometimes beardie owners turn the heat up too much, assuming their pet will like it because it’s used to the dessert, but it can cause it to become dehydrated and upset.
A 10- to 15-gallon enclosure will give your frog the amount of room that it needs. If you’d like to house 2 frogs, a 20-gallon tank is recommended. Be sure to use a Terrarium workshop with a tight, screen lid secure enough to prevent escapes. These frogs are great climbers!
One big improvement you can make in your home is fresh paint on the walls and trim. Don’t be afraid to try some color. Plain white walls can make a room look sterile, unattractive and rather boring. Contrasting earth tone colors can give your home warmth and an appealing atmosphere.
A heavy box is an inexpensive choice and when the box becomes soiled you can always discard it and get a new one. However, it will not provide a great deal of protection if you have a dog or cat that wants to pay a call on the turtle. A goldfish bowl is also inexpensive, and easy to clean. However, a goldfish bowl is not a good choice for most turtles because there is not enough room for them to move around. Some people have even tried to put turtles in a fishbowl that is filled with water. Listen closely, turtles are not fish and they cannot swim 24 hours a day. You will drown your turtle if they do not have rocks or wood to climb on so they can come out of the water and rest.
Anole lizards make great pets, so get them off to a good start. Choose a healthy specimen that appears robust and active. Bring them directly home from the pet store and have their terrarium ready to go in advance. Finally, give them time to adapt to their new surroundings and get completely comfortable with their new home.
